Frequently Asked Questions |
After pairing your sensor with your hub, you have to choose the best position to place it in order get the most out of it. You can put it on a small foot/stand that gives you more liberty of placement or you can stick it with the double sided 3M tape you will find in the box to the wall.
Please try to stay within reach of the hub, around 7 meters. The signal goes through the walls don't worry. If you are too far from the hub, the sensor will blink red, so you know you have to reposition it closer.
Avoid big objects like curtains, books, plants, etc. in the neighbourhood that might disturb the detection. A small object just in front of the detector can block a huge detection area.
It's best to place them at shoulder height (+-1,5m), the detection angle is wide (180°), so it will cover a large space. Do not place the sensor too close to an open fire or stove.
Choose the rooms where most motion is expected to discover patterns of life (sleeping, eating, movement, ...) , or place it in some locations that should not be visited by the senior like dangerous stairs or basement access. Behind the entrance door is also a possibility if you want to make sure there is no wandering outside the home during the night, when combining it with a custom rule. Aim the sensor to specific areas if you want to detect specific movements or actions, like the opening of a medication cabinet. Extra sensors can easily be added to the configuration if you need to cover a larger home or if you are very creative with their use for custom rules and alerts.
