The modem is where your internet connection is entering your home. Mostly your router is close to the modem. This is often in the basement, close to the fusebox, at the TV or near a fixed telephone line in the house.
If you have an access point, ethernet port or repeater that is closer to the middle of your home, make sure you plug Jane into that device instead. The more centrally located the hub is, the better for Jane.
Wired version
Connect it to your Wi-Fi router using the network cable provided. Make sure you do not plug it in to a “WAN” port if those are available.
Plug in your hub into the power with the power supply provided and it will automatically power up. Wait for the four lights to come on and go out.
Make sure you place the hub as far away from the modem as the ethernet cable allows you to minimize interference.
3G version
Plug in your hub into the power with the power supply provided and it will automatically power up. Wait for the four lights to come on and go out.
Once powered the third light will start blinking orange in pairs, this means that it is trying to connect to the mobile network. Once it is connected to the mobile network it will start to blink slowly.
